So when a leader decided, he has to stand on that decision made. Flip-flopping a decision is a sign of a weak leader. People around him/her will see that he/she is not capable of making his/her stand.
But, anyone can make mistake. The more you are in the position to make decision, the more the tendency or opportunity that you'll make mistakes. A leader just have to live with his/her mistake and move on, or trying to hide it.
Perhaps, a leader should not hide his/her mistake. A leader should walk on that thin line between upholding his/her words and leadership, and apologizing for the mistake and wrong decision done.
I can make mistake. I quote here the line from a song I feel close to my chest:
What I'd give to run my fingers thru your hair;
To touch your lips, to hold you near;
When you say your prayers, try to understand...
I make mistake, I'm just a man
