If there is one thing I can't miss from this whole trip, it's the sunrise at Tanjung Piai. Somehow I make it a point that in this journey, watching the sun rises at Tanjung Piai is a must. For the thousands that come here at Tanjung Piai every year, how many of them actually ever have that experience of watching the sun rises? Not many, I guess.
After taking my last nap n last stop-over at perhentian Sedenak, I rushed for Sedenak exit 250 at the PLUS highway. That's the exit to go to Pontian. The route is quite straight forward using Waze.
As I get nearer n nearer to my destination, passing Kukup n Pontian Kecil, I know Tanjung Piai is 15 minutes away, but I can't be late as the sign of brightness already filled that dawn sky.
I speed at almost 100km/h through jalan kampung before reaching Tanjung Piai resort, the location where you can see the sun rises. The Taman Negara is still closed.
I reached there at the nick of time. Satisfied, but a bit disappointed at the same time. Yes, there is a sunrise. I'm there to watch it. But the sun rises behind the industrial sites of Singapore...
What a bummer....
