I closed my eyes.
There I was, walking past the last tree in the wood, into an open-field of flowers of various kind. The narrow gravel pathway brings me to the wooden hut, sturdily built by a lake. I'm smiling. I wished she's there, waiting for me. I knew she will be there.
I hurried myself, walking down the pathway. The smell of late afternoon breeze is so refreshing. Yes, I can smell the air. I can almost touch it too. The sky is yellowish-reddish, and the reflection from the sun can be seen clearly on the mirror-like lake. I can see the jetty with my boat tied to it. Sometimes, I'll go out boating with her and spend wonderful afternoon rowing the lake.
There is a long wooden swing at the verandah of the hut. During a clear night sky, we will spend time by that swing, looking at the stars and the moon. If we are lucky, we can see a shooting-star or two. Many times, our night will be accompanied by fire-flies, dancing in the air..
Now I'm in front of the wooden hut. I knew she knew I was there, coz I can hear her hurrying. I heard her pouring water into the teapot. I smiled. I knocked the door and waited.
There she was, opened the door with a smile. I smiled back. She was wearing a simple turtle-neck light blue shirt and dark loosed pant. Simple and nice. I looked into her eyes, and she stepped back, letting me in. I walked in and saw two cups and a teapot on the small dining table. I turned my head toward her and smile again. Then I walked towards the dining table, and sat on one of the chairs. She closed the door and walked towards me. Then she took the chair in front of me.
The hut is small but cozy. The smell of redwood filled the air, very refreshing. There is a two-seater sofa by the fire-place. It's always cold at night in here. We spent a lot of time there on the sofa, sitting by the soft-dancing flame, talking about anything and everything. Many times, our conversation shall jump from one topic to another harmoniously.
But today, I can't spend much time with her. She poured the hot Nescafe into my cup, then into hers. I leaned towards the cup, and took a sip. We drunk in silence without a word, just enjoying the nice ambient of the sanctuary and the beautiful companionship of each other. Other times, we talked about things, especially during the days when I have my doubts about life. I will always discuss things with her either for advice or just merely for to have someone to talk to.
I finished my drink and smiled at her. I have to go now. I rise up and walk slowly towards her. I extend my hand at her and she took my hand. She stood up. I took a step towards her, and wrapped my hand behind her back. I kissed her forehead.
"I have to go now. I will come again, ok?" She nodded and smiled. I took her hand and walked with her towards the door. I kissed her hand and walked outside. She stood by the door and wished me goodbye, for now.
I walked the narrow gravel pathway towards the wood. Once a while, I turn my head back and saw her standing by the wooden hut. When she saw me turning my head, she will wave her hand. I can see her smile. Not long after, I reached the wood.
I opened my eyes, sigh, and ready to go to work. The car engine already ignited on, well heated for the morning journey to my office.

Hmmm... I have to admit that I have doubt whether I should post this or not in my blog. For those who are skeptical will think that I'm crazy. I guess, I'll have to find out myself.
In the book, "Creative Visualization", Shakti Gawain wrote a chapter about creating a sanctuary and a chapter about meeting the inner guide. The sanctuary is a personal place we can visit any time we want, whenever we desire peace and tranquility. That personal sanctuary can be as eloborate as our imagination able to create. To go there, we just have to close our eyes. The inner guide is a figure we create while we are in the sanctuary. The figure can be a male, a female, or even a talking animal. That figure is the purer side of us. We can have nice conversation with the figure. If we ask the figure anything, make it a habit to accept the first answer.
So, create a sanctuary for yourself. While you are there, meet your inner guide. The most beautiful place on earth is still free.
